About
Samoan singer Pene Pati is following in the footsteps of the great tenors of the last century with a recital devoted to the Neapolitan genre. This genre is intimately associated with the southern Italian town where the inhabitants are said to be born with music and dance in their blood. The songs are mostly lovers’ laments or serenades traditionally written for male voices and sung in Naples dialect. Some of the greatest opera singers ranging from Placido Domingo to José Carreras, Luciano Pavarotti and Roberto Alagna have succumbed to the charm of the genre. Luminous Pene Pati is joining the elite and will undoubtedly shine in his own right.
