About
Experts now agree that the composition of the Mass in B stretched from 1724 (the date of the first evidence of the Sanctus) to Bach’s final years. It is considered to be his last significant work, as the majority of the composition (Credo, Benedictus, Agnus Dei, Dona nobis) was written after The Art of the Fugue. This monumental score has a dazzling array of different forms, as befits the artistic legacy of one of the greatest musicians in the history of music.
