About
Young Russian pianist Anna Vinnitskaya, who has now lived for several years in Germany, grew up in an environment where music reigned supreme, to put it mildly. Her grandfather was the conductor of the Odessa Opera, her parents were both pianists and piano teachers, her uncle, Alexander Vinnitski, a student of Oïstrakh, is a violinist and concerto performer who now teaches at the Helsinki Conservatoire, and her brother is a percussionist. She won First Prize in the Queen Elisabeth Competition in 2007, and has had a stellar career as a recitalist, soloist, and teacher. For her second recital at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, she draws on extremely familiar repertoire. She opens with Ravel, followed by Scriabin, Brahms, and Rachmaninoff. This is another opportunity for her to showcase the full range of her technical virtuosity and sense of colour.
