About

This Japanese-German pianist is an all too infrequent performer in France although she recently took part in the Seine Musicale event and was artist in residence at Radio France. She is making her debut recital at avenue Montaigne with a very personal programme combining major works by Beethoven with neglected Nocturnes by John Field. The nocturne genre is one of the most popular and best-loved musical forms, yet few people know the name of its creator: John Field. The musical legacy of this contemporary of Beethoven influenced not only Chopin, but also generations of composers right up to the present day. Both in concert and in recordings on the Deutsche Grammophon label, Alice Sara Ott is keen to share the place of this little-known but key composer in the history of the piano.
