A major concert in three parts featuring Pierre Génisson, one of the finest clarinet players of his generation, whose subtlety, colours, musicality and energy are matched by the warmth of his performances. Accompanied by Quatuor Strada, he will introduce us to a neglected masterpiece, The Dreams and Prayers of Isaac the Blind, inspired by the figure of Isaac the Blind, one of the greatest Jewish kabbalists of the Middle Ages, before taking us to even greater emotional heights with Brahms’s famous Quintet with Clarinet. He will round off with some lively popular klezmer music.
