About
David Kadouch on piano will open with a solo waltz, then join Edgar, one of the Moreau siblings, on cello for a Norwegian duet, followed by Raphaëlle Moreau on violin for a Russian trio. American David Aaron Carpenter, a disciple of Yuri Bashmet, and virtuoso Lorraine Campet, supersolist at the Paris Opera, join Schubert on holiday. After Grieg’s passion and Rachmaninov’s sorrow, the musicians will tickle The Trout. In the sun-drenched summer of 1819, Franz Schubert composed a variation on the favourite Lied of a client who commissioned a set of Lieder from him. In a clear stream, the fisherman’s approach to catching the fish warns young girls about seducers whose rod could so easily hook them. It is irresistible.
