About

Le Malade imaginaire, Molière’s thirtieth and final play, is often considered to be his defining work. It is a powerful yet elegant “classic” with a subtle blend of comedic and tragic mastery. This production was premiered over twenty years ago by the late great Claude Stratz, featuring an original score by Marc-Olivier Dupin, but it has lost none of its freshness and modernity in performances since then by several generations of French actors. Guillaume Gallienne reprised the title role in 2019, bringing incredible tenderness to the part. A moment of pure poetry and a masterclass in theatre to be enjoyed by the whole family.
