About

Steeped in the ideals of 1789, Beethoven dreamed of Paris. At the dawn of the new century, he therefore did his best to attract Napoleon’s attention and his huge Sonata for violin and piano No. 9 is dedicated to Rodolphe Kreutzer, a close friend of the Corsican general. But by trying to be too original – nothing like this had ever been heard before – the Master of Bonn alienated the French virtuoso, who could make neither head nor tail of it. Undaunted, Nemanja Radulović, enfant terrible of the violin, who has formed a chamber music duet with Laure Favre-Kahn, is sure to dazzle. In  Tolstoy’s work, jealousy and insanity prompt Pozdnychev to kill his wife for becoming too close to her chamber music partner. Michel Vuillermoz will temporarily forsake the Comédie Française to perform this great text.
