About

Three composers, three musicians, three generations. Alongside the keyboard of François Dumont, who is in his thirties and will bring colour to Poulenc, Marc Coppey, in his fifties, whose recording of Rachmaninov’s Sonata for cello and piano (Aeon) is still unchallenged this century, will blend the depth of his outstanding 1711 Matteo Goffriller cello with Michel Portal’s velvety and versatile clarinet. From the lofty height of his eighty-seven years, Portal could easily make us overlook the fact that the “elderly” Brahms was much younger than him when he wrote his Opus 114. Proof indeed that music is ageless, and musicians likewise.
