About

And then there were two! Or nearly: the Chaconne from the Partita for solo violin BWV 1004 by Bach, transcribed for the left hand by Brahms, will certainly not duplicate the retranscription by Busoni performed by Benjamin Grosvenor in October. With his perpetually youthful air, Cédric Tiberghien, who is well-known for his longstanding affinity with the Kantor of Leipzig and with the author of the German Requiem, will facilitate this encounter between two geniuses before revisiting the famous Mozart sonata best known for its Rondo alla Turca. He will then remind us, courtesy of the Variations and fugue on an original theme opus 35, that its creator Beethoven was not lacking in wit or humour. Heroic!
